SEARCH TIPS

The more specific you can be the better your chance of quickly getting exactly what you want. We have provided you with some very powerful tools to help you.

  • For using more than one keyword use qualifying limiters: and, or, not
  • When you are unsure of how to spell a keyword use *

Using "And"
You can use as many keywords as you like to define the limits of a search. For example, if you want to search for "palaces in India" enter the keywords "palaces and India". The resulting search will find images that have both of these keywords attached to them and, therefore, the result will be to find only those palaces that are located in India.

Using "Or"
If you want to search for two or more completely different subjects use the "or" function. For example, if what you want are images of "India" and images of "palaces" (no matter where the palaces are in the world) type in "palaces or India". The resulting search will contain ALL of the images of India and ALL of the images of palaces that are currently in our visual database.

Using "Not"
Use "not" to exclude images from your search. Typing in "palaces not India" would result in showing you all of our images of palaces excluding those located in India. You may limit your search even further by more deeply defining the search. For example, you could enter "palaces not India not Thailand not Africa".

Not sure of the spelling? Use ( * )
If you are unsure how to spell "Celebrity" for example, you can type in a part of the word followed by an * . So for this example you would enter Celeb* and your results would be all images starting with "Celeb" or containing "Celeb" within their title.
